Since the emergence of the modern Iraqi state from and on the ruins of the Ottoman Empire, the Iraqi Christians started to have a ray of hope and experience some religious freedom and active civil participation in public life, based on the new principles of citizenship, nationalism and secularism adopted by the new government in building new institutions for the country. All that made the Iraqi Christians more interactive and the first among others to absorb the changes, being significantly instrumental in rolling the wheel of development.

Italian arms to the peshmerga

After meeting this morning between the prime minister Renzi and the leaders Iraqis and Kurds, sending weapons to the Italian Kurdish guerrillas is a done deal and the vote of the Italian Parliament on the issue is only an exercise in rhetoric. Moreover, the time to think on the subject is no longer there if you want to stop the advance of ISIS. The bulk of the weapons that Italy is going to send is part of a seizure occurred during the Balkan war of a substantial quantity of AK 47 guns and also laser pointers, body armor and communications systems.

King Abdullah , referring to Iran , according to data from WikiLeaks , expressed himself in these terms: " God prevent us from falling victim to their evil" and added that Washington should " cut off the head of the snake".

John Kerry’s visit to the Middle East provides several signals on political issues in the region. In particular, it brings back into focus the goal of kick starting the immobile regional peace process.  

The first signal is the American decision for Amman to be the meeting place with the Palestinians. The message is to both Palestinians and Jordanians foreshadowing Jordan’s role in the upcoming settlement process, which, if all goes well, will be looking much healthier in the coming weeks.
