La Germania non è riuscita a raggiungere un accordo con i suoi principali alleati occidentali sull'invio di carri armati Leopard 2 in Ucraina, nonostante le crescenti pressioni della NATO e di Kiev per intensificare i suoi aiuti militari in vista di una potenziale offensiva russa di primavera. "Non possiamo dire oggi quando verrà presa una decisione e quale sarà tale decisione sui carri armati Leopard", ha detto venerdì scorso ai giornalisti il neo ministro della Difesa Boris Pistorius .
